Is matcha powder included?
No, and that's deliberate. Matcha is perishable and varies a lot by harvest, so it's worth buying fresh from a specialist rather than getting a sachet that has been sitting in a warehouse. The kit is the equipment — the tools you buy once and keep.
Why isn't there a bowl?
Ceramic tea bowls break in transit at a rate we weren't willing to accept, and you almost certainly already own something that works. You need width so the whisk can move freely — a cereal bowl or soup bowl is fine. We'd rather send five things that arrive intact than six where one is a coin flip.
How long will the whisk last?
With daily use and proper drying on the holder, six months to a year. Left wet in a drawer, about two weeks. The holder isn't decoration — it's what keeps the prongs from splaying and cracking.
Can I put the whisk in the dishwasher?
No. Never the dishwasher, never soap, and don't let it soak. Rinse it in warm water, shake it out, and set it on the holder to air dry. That's the whole maintenance routine.
How long does shipping take?
Typically 4–9 business days total — 1–2 business days to process and 3–7 in transit. We ship from a US warehouse, not from overseas. Full details on our Shipping Policy page.
Do you ship outside the US?
Not yet. US addresses only for now, including Alaska, Hawaii, and APO/FPO.
What if it arrives damaged?
Send us a photo within 7 days and we'll ship a replacement free. You won't need to return the damaged one.
What's your return policy?
30 days from delivery. If something's wrong with the item, we cover return shipping; if you changed your mind, you do. No restocking fee either way. See Returns & Refunds.
Is this a good gift?
It's the main thing people buy it for. It arrives as a complete set, it doesn't require the recipient to already own anything, and the instructions are written for someone who has never made matcha before.
I've never made matcha. Is this too advanced?
No. The kit includes step-by-step instructions, and the honest truth is there are only four steps: sift, add water just off the boil, whisk in a W for twenty seconds, drink. The rest is practice.
